Dr.Brian Malambo

Brian is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Monter Capital Partnership. He has more than 16 years of experience in the insurance and financial services sectors, particularly in Finance, Credit and Investments acquired in various key positions. His career has involved fund and investment structuring, capital allocation, building and developing start-ups and early-stage businesses and guiding them to pre-eminence.

Brian is also founder and Director of other institutions including Longhorn Capital Limited, a private investments firm, Longhorn Associates Limited, an Asset Management company registered with and regulated by the Securities & Exchange Commission, the Pensions & Insurance Authority and the Lusaka Securities Exchange. Some of his other interests are in Izwe Loans Zambia Plc, a financial institution in which he is a Minority shareholder and non-executive Director as well as Pinnacle Financial Services – Malawi, a financial institution he co-founded. Pinnacle Financial Services is licensed and regulated by the Reserve Bank of Malawi and Brian is the institution’s Chairman.

Brian earned his Doctorate in Business Administration– Finance from the Binary University of Malaysia. He also holds, among other qualifications, a Master of Business Administration from the Management College of Southern Africa in South Africa. He is a Chartered Treasurer and holder of the global Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) credential with the Association for Financial Professionals in the United States of America. Brian is also a holder of the Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst and the Capital Markets & Securities Analyst Charters with the Corporate Finance institute of Canada as well as a Commercial Real Estate Specialist with the same Institute.

Brian’s passion is in supporting and enhancing growth through sharing of knowledge and skills in general Finance, Investments and Entrepreneurship. He delivers this support through various avenues and public speaking engagements and lectures offered to students in business and related fields as well as to other corporate professionals.

Dr Gregor Binkert

Gregor has more than 30 years of experience in International Development cooperation. He held senior management positions at the World Bank and the Swiss Development Cooperation with experience in Africa, Latin America and Central Asia. Among other positions, he served as the World Bank Country Director for Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome & Principe based in Cameroon. In this capacity, he managed a project portfolio of about $ 2.8 billion with over two-thirds being in infrastructure, often implemented as public-private partnerships. The remainder were projects in agriculture, education, health, environment, and urban development.

Gregor Binkert received his Ph.D. and M.A. from Stanford and his B.A. from Harvard University.

Lulumbi is a qualified and experienced Finance, Economics, and Investment professional with extensive experience in Private equity, M&A, Macroeconomic analysis, Wealth Management, Unit Trusts, Mutual funds and Investment Banking.
He has served in senior management positions in the banking sector, private equity and investment firms in different parts of the world including Australia, Canada and Zambia. Prior to joining Monter Capital Partnership, Lulumbi was Principal at Two Nine Group, a private equity firm.

Lulumbi earned his MBA from Thompson Rivers University in Canada and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Economics and Finance from Deakin University in Australia. He also holds the prestigious CFA charter.

Ngenda Nyambe Director

Ngenda has more than 25 years of experience in Banking, Financial Markets and Financial Consultancy. He was the Country Treasurer at Barclays Bank Zambia (now ABSA), Director Treasury and Investment Management at Zanaco Bank and Executive Director Commercial Banking in charge of Southern Africa at Standard Chartered Bank. Currently, he is an Independent Financial Services Consultant in addition to being an Independent Non-executive Director of some private and public sector Boards of Directors. He was nominated to the Monter Capital Board of Directors in July of 2021.
Early in his career, Ngenda was appointed as the youngest member of the Country Management Committee at Barclays Bank Zambia, an appointment that stemmed from his exceptional work ethic. He was an integral member of Barclays Bank Zambia (BBZ)’s aggressive expansion project which tripled retail branches and staff complement in one year, making BBZ the largest banking network in the country and the industry leader by market share. Ngenda’s prowess in Treasury Management saw him achieve significant career milestones and successes including winning the Best Performing Treasury Award in Barclays Africa as well as his record result in tripling the exchange trading income at Zanaco within his first year as Treasurer.

Ngenda has been an active participant in non – executive leadership and has contributed significantly towards the strengthening of corporate governance tenets in various organisations. He has previously served on the Boards of Zambia Credit Guarantee Scheme, Ecobank Zambia Limited, Business Regulatory Review Agency (BRRA), Standard Chartered Bank Pension Fund, Barclays Bank Pension Fund and ZSIC Life Finance and Investment Committee of the Board. He currently serves on the Boards of National Breweries Pension Scheme, Zanaco Staff Pension Fund, Indo Zambia Bank, The Virtual Doctors and the Zanaco Sporting Club Limited.

Ngenda holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) from the University of Zambia and a Post Graduate Diploma from Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) of South Africa. He is also an early achiever of the Certificate for International Dealers (ACI) UK, a credential he earned as the first ever Zambian, in the year 2000.

With over 15 years of extensive experience gained in multinational banking and financial services providers, Patrick is a Chartered Accountant by qualification having kicked off his career in private practice before moving on to KPMG where he spent 4 years as a Senior Associate. He is a goal oriented professional with several years of experience gained from working in private practice, financial services including the Banking and Insurance sectors. He is a seasoned organizational leader with a passion for driving results and growing talented potential Leaders. His cross-industry experience is distinguished by strong analytical, organizational, leadership and communication skills. Over the past 10 years, he has served in various senior roles where he has been responsible for driving strategy through overseeing the overall financial management, planning, systems, and controls of these organizations. He has been responsible for executing key financial actions across the board, including the planning, coordinating and management of quarterly profit forecasts, advising on annual departmental budgets, targets, and overall company performance. He is an assertive individual who is focused on pursuing challenging opportunities that promote and encourage professional growth and leadership which bring about positive change to institutions.
Patrick is a team oriented professional with excellent interpersonal skills. He places a strong emphasis on quality, timeliness, and attention to detail. He is a goal driven professional who has over the years demonstrated his ability to analyze, plan and manage teams and processes.

Patrick currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for the Minet Zambia (Formerly AON Zambia), a role he has held for the past 7 years. His current Board affiliations include Liutebm University, Semane Engineering Solutions Zambia, Trustee for Minet Consulting Zambia Limited Employee Share Trust and Trustee at The Other Side Foundation (TOSF).

He is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (UK) as well as the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
